A Screenplay
by
Adam J Morgan
I developed an interest in screenwriting through YouTube channels like Just Write and Lessons from the Screenplay and I was gifted a short course on Writing for Film at the City Academy in London in early 2020.

A homework assignment from that course took hold and quickly became a feature length comedy (since trimmed to a two-part mini series) called Quincy Steele. Then the pandemic happened, we went into lockdown and I took the opportunity got properly stuck in.

After 130-page comedy I tried to write something a bit neater and ended up with a taut, psychological drama about teenagers complicating the police investigation into a fatal car crash.

Then a psychological horror short based on an old idea that had suddenly become very relevant and two versions of a disastrous New Years Eve '21 for stage and screen. The stage-play was shortlisted for the Liverpool Royal Court's Stage Write program.

A disappointing viewing of Christian Bale's dismal dragon drama Reign of Fire and a collaboration between two YouTube channels resulted in Mama Dragoon.
It's Jaws. Set in Wales. With a Dragon.
I'm trying to get Michael Sheen involved.

I'm currently working on a 6-part TV series called Gone Differently
which will, god willing, star Carey Mulligan.
