A collection of videos, audio and fun things
I was tasked to make during my time at a primary school.

Everything was shot on iPhone or a Canon DSLR
and edited in HitFilm Express or, regrettably, WeVideo.
Year 1 Bonfire Night Topic

Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot
A fun explainer for KS1
starring my old Year 1 class.
How the story of the Gunpowder Plot informs the traditions
of November 5th.

Count in 3s with Guido Fawkes
What will hopefully become
the gold-standard for teaching counting in 3s through song.

Mr Morgan's Bird Cafe

Mr Morgan Singing Off

A nature documentary I made
for my class during lockdown.
An intimate and irreverent study
of the birds in my garden
that was judged
'too weird for Reception'.
Forced to isolate for my last week
of employment, this is my
farewell song after 7.5 years.
75 tears were cried in response,
I'm told.
Read the lyrics here.
Songwriting
I taught guitar lessons at school and spent a fun few lessons writing this song with a student for her Music Festival performance then recorded it for her art school application.
It's a bona-fide banger.

Mary Anning Year 1 Topic

I found the monster
A dragon buried below
Let’s dig out the wings
I took my dog out
Loving bones, he found a bone.
Not just any bone.

‘Look what we found!’
A young girl and her father
Curiosities

Bright light explosion
Wake up now, come back to me
My lightning child
Always together
Lose a father, find a friend
That salt and pepper

A skull! So scary
Is this some kind of sea beast?
Ichthyosaur eh?

The Weirdest of Years
(for Capable Class)

Capable Class! Are we all still here?
Wasn’t that just the weirdest of years?
And this half term’s got off to the strangest of starts
Yes, it’s terribly sad that we’re all still apart
As now, once again, we’re all learning from home
But when you return, think how much you’ll have grown!
You’ll be touching the ceiling with overgrown hair!
And I’m getting the feeling we may need bigger chairs!
We can’t wait to see you, hands raised in our class
Blurs in the playground, knees grazed on the grass
Take care of yourself, work well and eat right
And make sure you get enough sleep in the night
This New Year’s our chance for a total reboot
(Though I bet it’s been fun to put me on mute)
You’ll be at home just a little while longer
And you’ll come back to school smarter, stronger
Things have been tough, that is inescapable
But we got the stuff, that’s how it is: we’re Capable
